Favourite: Maeda Atsuko

Since my life has been extremely boring after the Takamina event, here's the post about my AKB48 oshimen, Maeda Atsuko.

Name: Maeda Atsuko (前田敦子)

D.O.B: July 10 1991

Idk why I always feel like I have to explain my J Pop groups, lol. Atsuko (Acchan) is from this massive girl group (more like army) called AKB48. Don't let the number in the name fool you, they do not have only 48 members. They have wayyyy more than that. They were formed in 2005 by genius and famous producer and lyricist, Akimoto Yasushi a.k.a Aki-P. Their concept is 'idols you can meet' and they perform daily at their theater in Akihabara, a district in Tokyo. 

They are divided into teams, obviously, A, K, B and the newly formed, 4. Each team generally has 16 members with a captain in each team. Everyone's like, why the fck do you need so many girls. Simple, they perform daily, of course they need many people. Well, AKB48 are now THE TOP girl group in Japan. They have broken records. Their latest single, Flying Get, sold a million copies on the first day alone. 

So basically, Acchan is the center of AKB48. As in the front girl, the one you see first when you watch AKB48. She's center in almost every single. With this much exposure, of course she has her haters. Which are a lot but we won't talk about them. 

So reasons why I love her. To be honest, she wasn't my first oshi. That was Mariko-sama. But then her adorableness just got to me and I began to like her more and more. She isn't the best singer and dancer, even she admitted it herself. Acchan never wanted to be center, she's a shy girl, but Aki-P saw something in her and pushed her as a front girl. A shy girl, suddenly put into the spotlight, she carries a lot of burden. But Acchan took it all in her stride and I think that's what made me respect her more. The fact that she was given a position she never wanted, but grew into it made me see her as someone other than the bored faced girl. 

She also doesn't think highly of herself, repeatedly saying that she 'is not good at anything'. Every time she says that, I feel like screaming at her "GURL, YOU'RE GOOD AT EVERYTHING." Acchan doesn't have a shining personality, like some of the other girls, but her quiet personality is what I relate to the most. She's someone that you feel you could be friends with. 

I love her smile, I love her voice, I love how she'll suddenly do/say something that'll crack me up without her trying too hard and I love how she's self deprecating. And she's a pretty girl, not gorgeous like Mariko-sama but she has this certain vibe. 

I swear I fangirl too much whenever I watch her or listen to her voice. I adore her.
