AKB48 Singapore Fan Meet

Ticket!
Me!

(All of this is from my not so good memory, heh)

Fom the top, met up with JZ at Esplanade around 1pm and proceeded to the Singapore Toys, Games and Comics Convention (STGCC) at Suntec City. The AKB48 fan meet ticket included a one day pass to the convention so we went. Collected my ticket and went to the convention.

A lot of cosplayers (as usual) on the 3rd floor. Went in, got a goodie bag and proceeded to round around the halls. Lesser people than at AFAx last month. Rounded for about an hour before going to BK to eat lunch.

After that, checked out where the fan meet/queuing was then went back in, to buy something. JZ bought a random manga, I didn’t really wanna buy anything so we went out. Went to the washroom before going to the place for queuing up.

Official queue started at 3.00pm, I only arrived there at 3.30pm and there was already like, 50+ fans in front of me. Saw the fan club from Indonesia and some of the SGP48 people. They stood out with their bright pink shirts.

So I settled myself down and waited. I whiled away the time reading a book, listening to music, watching videos, playing games and just staring blankly around as more people filled in.

6.30pm, we were led into the theatre. Any gifts had to be placed at the table to be given to the girls later, so a lot of the other people were quite disappointed. Lol. Went in, got my Chance no Junban postcard and got a seat 4 rows from the front, on the left. The middle were all filled, sadly.

Waited around, watching videos from the CnJ single. The wotas were already screaming names and chanting. I was just soaking in the atmosphere and looking around like a kid at a candy store.

Around 7pm, the lights dimmed and everyone immediately stood up. I was caught off guard, so I threw my bag on my seat and quickly stood up too. Haha.

They had Overture first, but I didn’t really know the chant, except the ‘Jya, jya’ part. All the ‘-bers’ were too confusing. Haha, loser. -.-

Anyways, the 12 girls came out and ZOMG, they were shining. You know when people always say ‘You look prettier in person’, I believe it. They seriously all looked super pretty in person. They sang ‘River’ first. It was medley (I can’t freakin’ remember all the songs!) before the introduced themselves.

And OMG, it was so cute. They all memorised their greetings, heh, so it was spoken in halting English. Like, “Hi. My. Name. Is. Asuka Kuramochi.” All the greetings had a pattern, like name, nick name, something about Singapore, and nice to meet you. It was seriously so cute when they forgot what they were supposed to say and went, “Eh!?” And, they wrote their greetings on the back of their hands! LOL. One of the girls was looking at her hand, and the crowd went ‘Ehhhhh!!!’ and the other girls were like shaking their head and gesturing ‘No, no’. It was hilariously cute. And, one of the girls (I've just found out is Matsui Sakiko) spoke some Singlish which was deathly kawaii. She said, "Ok lah, ok lah!" which made all of us super excited. :D

They had like, sub group songs before they all came out for ‘Aitakatta’. There was a short MC. People were screaming when they were talking, so others would shush them and the girls would laugh. Lol. One of them (Harugon, I think) asked them where the best place in Singapore was and everyone began screaming the answers and they laughed and finally settled on ‘Merlion’. Then Mocchi told a story of how she visited Sentosa. She said ‘Sen...’ then went ‘EH?’ before saying ‘Sentosa’.

“I went to Sentosa...” then she paused and kept gesturing with her hand, like spinning it so in everyone’s minds, yesterday. But then after a while she finally said, ‘Today’.

LMAO.

They then sang Oogoe Diamond and Bingo in English. At first, I was confused when the lyrics weren’t the same. I was thinking, ‘What kind of language is it?’ then realised it was English.

Oops.

My bad.

I don’t mean to sound mean, but it was hard to make out the words, but kudos to them for trying and the management for making songs in English. When the two songs came out, I felt like they were reading my mind, because both songs were on replay on IPod, so I was totally stoked when I heard it.

The ‘last song’ was Heavy Rotation.

SQUEALS!

The song is so chant worthy so I was like, max tension, when it came out. And I screamed along to the ‘I want you, I need you, I love you’ parts. And also half did the ‘Heavy rotation’ motions. Lol.

The lights came back on as they waved goodbye and the fans all chanted ‘Encore!’ for 3 minutes and they came back in, in the CnJ white outfits and sang CnJ. That was the last, last before they had this random Jankenpon, with Uchi throwing scissors, so those who had stone on their postcards would get autographed posters.

Darn my bad luck. Or Uchi for throwing scissors, cause I got paper. -.- After that, they got ready for the high touch event.

ZOMGIWASSONERVOUS.

Before going up the stage, I was nervous like I was going for surgery or the dentist. My heart was literally pounding and I kept wiping my hands on my jeans. The first person I got to high five was Uchi, and she was nice, she looked straight into my eyes and said ‘Thank you.’ Being the awkward girl that I am, I just smiled like a dork and said ‘Thank you’ back. The next few girls, I said ‘Good work’. Ok, I whispered, since my voice suddenly decided to not come out.

Mocchi, Sumire looked right at me with beaming smiles and said thank you, so did Ami. I can’t remember the order of the girls, but those 10 seconds that I got to high five all of them were flippin’ awesome! The last was Harugon I think and she was like, the high tension girl, she said thank you really brightly and waved at me at the end.

After that, I walked off stage with jelly knees and a stupid smile on my face. Holy crap, my hour with AKB48 was over. And it was awesome and the $30 I spent was so worth it. It wasn’t really a meet the fans session, just a mini concert with an extra high touch event thrown in.

So I walked home with dorky smile on my face, still thinking of AKB48.

My life is complete.

Not really, but still.

Girls that scored higher on my list are Uchida Mayumi, Kuramochi Asuka, Maeda Ami and Sato Sumire.

Uchi looked so much prettier in real life, and she resembled Takamina at times on stage. She was really nice, and took her role as center girl seriously and quite well.

AHHHH...

AKB48!
