Sale is over
Well, the Robinsons Expo Sale officially ended yesterday, Sunday, 7 February 2010 at 10pm. And can I say, it has been some of the best weeks of my life, thus far.
Seriously, I know I say this a lot, but I mean it. You don't miss something until it's gone.
So with the sale over, I'm missing the stupid place and the great people.
Haha, it's so ironic that we complain about work when we are working but miss it like crazy when it's over.
Ah. All the running, scanning, packing, refunds, finding the disappearing seniors, rushing to the cash office, opening, closing. All are missed.
And the wonderful personalities of the different people. Some people working in the Expo are truly wacky. Erm, security guards, SM and bald, old men.
Right.
So last night was crazy for a while, but it wasn't as crazy as Saturday. We closed quite early, around 10.20pm and there were only a few people left. So, I closed my till and counted my takings, which was like $3000 plus. Add that with the credit cards and NETS, and the whole till took in almost $28k.
Wow.
Haha, highest total on the last night. A girl from the last counter came to help me pack and she was kinda stunned at the pace I was scanning cause she could barely keep up with the packing. I found out the reason this morning when she told me that their counter wasn't used to the high pace as most of them got customers who bought little. Haha.
Then sealed everything and chatted with Bert, Sonia and Emerald, a senior. Emerald said there was going to be another sale in May and she hoped to see us there and I was like, "Omg, we've had enough already." She laughed. I laughed. We all laughed. Yay.
Went home and this morning, went back to help pack up.
The most EPIC thing happened. You know those bins where they put stuff in, the foldable ones? Yeah, we were tasked with taking it apart and folding it and pushing it to the side. The thing about these bins, they are extremely flimsy and one wrong move, will send it crashing to the floor. And when we were stacking this whole row, someone hit it and all the bins fell over like dominoes!
Everyone in the hall paused, open jawed, staring at the spectacle. After the whole row fell, the right thing and ONLY thing everyone could do was clap. Haha, it was HILARIOUS! And totally legendary!
After that, took pictures, laughed and went home.
I miss the people. I keep thinking I'm going to work tomorrow.
Ahhhh.
Ok, long wordy post.
"See ya later doesn't mean goodbye"
I hope that's true.
Applying and getting this job was one of the best things that happened to me. God has been kind to me, and whatever comes, I will forever be thankful to Him.
